As a leading domestic and international enterprise in flexible perovskite, Dazheng Micro-Nano completed the construction of the world's first testing demonstration project combining flexible perovskite solar cell modules with public streetlights in early February 2025, taking a new step towards the commercialization of flexible perovskite batteries.
In the wave of pursuing carbon neutrality, the seemingly ordinary public facility of urban streetlights, due to the continuous development of flexible perovskite technology, will gradually transform from "power consumers" to "power stations," becoming the green neurons in the construction of smart cities.
The light absorption coefficient of perovskite materials is more than 10 times that of crystalline silicon, and it also has high power generation efficiency in rainy weather or low-light environments. Its flexible characteristics will break through the installation limitations of traditional photovoltaic modules, allowing it to fit cylindrical lamp poles and curved decorative structures, achieving "invisible" energy collection.
Flexible perovskite modules produced using solution coating technology have production costs reduced by 40% compared to crystalline silicon modules, and production energy consumption is reduced by 70%. Calculations show that if 10% of streetlights nationwide are upgraded, it could reduce coal-fired power generation by about 480,000 tons annually, equivalent to planting 2.6 million trees.
This testing demonstration project for public streetlights has verified the good power generation effect of perovskite under curved and low-light conditions, proving the feasibility of industrializing the combination of perovskite solar cells and public streetlights.
