Portable Applications
Flexible solar modules are very different from the rigid, rectangular, glass packaging usually found on a roof. Instead, flexible solar cells come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are expected to be used in more cases than standard modules.
Even if most solar installers only install standard solar modules on their roofs, flexible solar modules are easier to install. Flexible solar cells can be mounted on awnings, tents, or on curved roofs of buildings and vehicles.
Solar boats
Solar boats range from recreational and day boats to barges and boathouse. Flexible modules can adapt to the irregular shapes of many crafts, whether in the awning above the deck or in the roof of the cab.
RV and Camper
Adding flexible solar modules to the roof of an RV will not turn your RV into a solar electric vehicle, but they will allow you to use solar power to run lights and appliances. Flexible modules add little weight to your vehicle and are easy to install. You can have a picnic on public land (meaning free, off the net) without having to find a usable connection in a crowded RV park or campsite.
Many RVs, RVs and trailers are equipped with solar or solar ready. If your solar modules have sufficient power output, and the battery can store power for nighttime and cloudy days, then your system will work at its best. The battery is definitely quieter than a generator, but don't expect it to power the air conditioner all night.
Camping and hiking
If you're hiking in the wild and worried about your phone battery running out, you can attach a flexible panel to the exposed side of your backpack and charge your phone on the hike. If you are camping in your car, place the panel on the sunroof to recharge the portable battery and keep your lantern running after dark. During winter camping, the flexible modules can better absorb the refracted light of the snow and the direct sunlight.
Alternative to rooftop solar energy
Light, flexible modules are suitable for roofs that cannot withstand the weight of standard solar modules.
Flexible modules are much easier to install than standard solar modules, because the latter require mounting brackets and sealing materials to prevent the roof from leaking. And without the need to install brackets and other hardware, flexible modules are easier to move, for example, if you decide to sell your house and want to carry your solar modules with you.

Flexible modules can also be used to expand roof solar array by filling space that is too small or too deformed to accommodate standard solar panels, or added to the system when power demand increases.
Flexible organic solar cells are widely used because of their light weight, portability, high flexibility and curlability.

With the continuous development of human economic level and the continuous improvement of engineering and construction technology, the appearance of human buildings is becoming more and more beautiful and complex, while the traditional flexible BIPV components are thicker, do not have strong enough deformation capacity, and the cost is too high, their application scope is greatly restricted, and they can no longer meet the requirements of modern and complex buildings. The flexible chalcogenide modules can fill this gap, and it has a very strong application prospect. In addition, flexible perovskite solar module because of its own light characteristics, low requirements for bearing, can greatly reduce the installation and construction costs, and in the face of typhoon and other severe weather can be folded protection and more advantages.
Smart agriculture is to apply the Internet of Things technology to the traditional agriculture, and use sensors and software to control the agricultural production through the mobile platform or the computer platform, so as to make the agricultural production more "intelligent". Use full application of modern information technology, integrated application of computer and network technology, Internet of things technology, audio and video technology, 3S technology, wireless communication technology and expert wisdom and knowledge to realize agricultural visual remote diagnosis, remote control, disaster early warning and other intelligent management. This will bring about a fundamental change to the "present stage of traditional agriculture".
Ricoh of Japan will launch the world's first all-solid-state dye-sensitized solar cell in late February 2020. By changing the electrolyte from liquid to solid, it was successfully realized with improving durability. If entering a society where small sensors and "5G Internet of Things (IoT)" devices are popular, power sources such as sensors will become important. As a brother of dye-sensitized solar cells, perovskite solar cells have higher efficiency, and their application in the Internet of Things is highly expected.
